The safety mechanism can be activated immediately after blood collection and is designed to reduce the possibility of accidental needlestick injury. Its irreversible locking mechanism provides an audible click when activated.

It can be used with evacuated blood collection tubes or blood culture bottles. The device is classified as Class IIa under Regulation (EU) 2017/745.
